Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (short coat) Dog

Caleb the Dog needs a home

Hi! My name is Caleb, and I'm what you call a ladies' man! If you are looking for a sweet, loving, dedicated dog that you can snuggle up with in bed at night....I'm your man!  I loves laying in bed and watching TV or a good movie. You can leave me at home uncrated and I will watch your house and I promise not to tear anything up!  I wasn't always this happy and life wasn't always this good to me.  I was found wandering the streets on Kuykendahl in November 2012.  There is a picture in the album showing the horrible condition I was in.

I was just a sweet confused puppy who had been abused and was wondering the streets, alone, scared, and in pain with mange.  My foster mommy says I was nothing but a giant red bleeding scab with no hair.  My foster mommy met me and took me home to live with her while I find my furever home.   I am crate trained, potty trained and leash trained.  I am very strong so my foster mommy uses a harness on me or else I get excited and choke myself when we go on walks. Some people look at me and get scared because they think I look mean, but I'm just a big old teddy bear!   My foster mommy always feels safe when I'm around.  She thinks it's funny how people will walk way around us when we go out for walks at night. So if any of you ladies are looking for a doggie that will scare away the bad guys and love you furever, that's me.  I get along with almost all dogs.  I said, almost, because every once in a while, I meet one that I don't like.  I'm just a happy go lucky boy who is looking for his furever family.  My foster mummy says the right family will come along and I believe her.  I sure am excited to meet them!

If you are interested in Caleb, please contact Cynthia at 832-803-4218 for information about this dog or to schedule a meet and greet.
You can apply online by clicking on Application . Once your application is approved, we will schedule a meet and greet at one of our adoption events. Thank you for considering a rescue!

The adoption fee includes vaccinations, Bordetella, de-worming, rabies, spay/neuter and microchip. There is a an additional $12.99 fee for Home Again for a lifetime registration of the microchip.

It is against the law in the State of Texas for a rescue not to be sterilized so we have to make sure it gets completed and that we have record of it.

NOTE: In our bios, we provide information based on our volunteer's experience with a particular dog; such as temperament, training, and ability to get along with others.

AARF is a 501(c)3 Non Profit, all breed, no kill organization. Our group is always in need of

, no matter how small is a big help and is greatly appreciated. Please help us to continue to help them. Thank you.
